Prayagraj Mahakumbh 2025: The authorities have set up extensive plans to ensure the successful execution of the Mahakumbh festival, along with extraordinary security protocols implemented throughout the fairgrounds and in the city of Prayagraj and its neighboring areas.

The Maha Kumbh Mela, representing India’s rich culture, spirituality, and devotion, has commenced today in the city of Prayagraj, known as the Sangam. Today marks the Amrit Snan during Paush Purnima. Since the early hours, pilgrims have been immersing themselves in the meeting point of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the invisible Saraswati River. It is reported that around 10 million devotees will take a dip in the Ganga today. The inaugural royal procession is scheduled for Makar Sankranti. The Maha Kumbh is recognized as the largest festival globally, with an anticipated attendance of 450 million devotees, including sadhus and saints, from various regions of the country and abroad.

All the Akharas participating in Maha Kumbh will begin their Kalpavas at the banks of Sangam starting today. According to the guidelines, the Juna Akhara will be the first to undergo the royal bath. Following this, each Akhara will take turns to immerse themselves in the Triveni Sangam as an act of faith. The administration has prepared extensive arrangements to ensure the smooth running of the Mahakumbh Mela, along with exceptional security measures implemented in both the fair area and the surrounding locations of Prayagraj.
